Pronunciation Why it's important in communication and how I can perfect it

I am sure our last blog on ‘Power of Voice’ has helped you to project your confidence through your own voice. In this blog, we will share with you all the power of pronunciation and the recipe to make your communication effective and impressive.

Pronunciation plays an important role in making the communication impressive and impactful. Clear pronunciation makes communication easy and it helps the recipient to understand the message fast.

Having good communication pronunciation with clear enunciation is always an asset in communication skills, especially if you are using your voice and speech for your profession, be that of a customer care executive, a public or a motivational speaker, or a corporate professional.

When you are communicating in English with others, your pronunciation is one of the first things they will pick up on. People will notice if your pronunciation is weak or strong as soon as you start speaking the simplest of words. Incorrect pronunciation creates a bad first impression and it can also play with your confidence, which makes it even more difficult for you to communicate.

However, the most important question is that – what is a bad pronunciation?

An incorrect pronunciation will have the strong influence of mother tongue or wrong placement of the articulators.  English words are made up of letters and each letter has its own sounds and when we enunciate the sounds incorrectly, the whole pronunciation of the word goes for a toss!!

The letters of the alphabet fall into 2 divisions- vowels and consonants. Consonants add sharpness to your pronunciation and vowel sounds bring clarity and emotions to the speech.

Without correct pronunciation, the vocabulary that you know will be less effective when communicating. It is always better to know fewer words and pronounce them well than to know a lot of words and pronounce them badly.

Bad pronunciation can lead to misunderstandings that may cause mishaps and confusion in the conversation process. It can also lead to people avoiding communication with you because they feel you are too difficult to talk to.

If you are ready to bring that impact in your speech sounds and if you want to create that WOW moment through your pronunciation and want make your English a strength instead of a weakness, please connect with us to get the right solution.
